Sustaining Professional Dialogue in the Field of TESOL

Lawrence N. Berlin, Ph.D., is the former Director of International Programs at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago and an applied linguist. Now professor emeritus, he was a former member of the faculty, chair, and teacher trainer in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language. He has published numerous manuscripts in teaching English as a second language, pragmatics, and discourse analysis, including Contextualizing College ESL Classroom Praxis (2005), Dialogue in Politics (with Anita Fetzer, 2012), and The Dynamics of Political Discourse (with Elda Weizman and Anita Fetzer, 2015). In addition, he founded the organization Dialogue Under Occupation in 2006.
